Valkenburg acquires grant to investigate cyberbullying

August 2009.  Dr. Simone van der Hof (Information law; Tilburg University), Dr. Virginia Dignum (Information and computer science; Utrecht University), and Patti Valkenburg received a competitive research grant from NWO.

The grant was awarded by the Responsible Innovation Program of the Dutch National Science Foundation NWO. It involves an interdisciplinary research project into the causes and consequences of cyberbullying. An important aim is to investigate the effectiveness of different types of interventions against cyberbullying in virtual communities. A Postdoctoral researcher and a PhD student will be recruited for the project. One of these reserachers will be appointed at CCAM, the other at the University of Utrecht. The project will start in the Fall of 2009.
