Esther Rozendaal wins NeSCoR Dissertation Award

Esther Rozendaal Esther Rozendaal, former PhD candidate at CCAM, received the prestigieus NeSCoR Dissertation Award award at the Nationale conference "24 Hours of Communication Science," held on 7 and 8 February at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

The jury praised Rozendaal's dissertation, entitled "Advertising Literacy and Children's Susceptibility to Advertising" for its multidisciplinary nature, use of innovative methodologies, thorough conclusions, and the academic and societal relevance. Moreover, the jury praised Rozendaal's writing, especially her talent to present complex theories and results in a very accessible manner.

In 2012, Rozendaal also received the best dissertation award from the Children, Adolescents, and the Media division of the International Communication Association (ICA).
