Alexandre Barco Martelo (PhD, 2017, La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull) is a postdoctoral researcher at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR) at the University of Amsterdam. He is studying the potential effects of the interaction between children and social robots.
Within the Center for research on Children, Adolescents, and the Media (CcaM) at ASCoR, Alexandre Barco Martelo is involved in the project “CHILDROBOT: Children and social robots: Toward an integrative framework”, which is funded by the European Research Council.
Prior to joining the Amsterdam School of Communication Research, Alexandre Barco Martelo worked as a Research and Teaching Associate in the Electronics Department at the La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull. where he participated in interdisciplinary research on social robots for children with disabilities.
