The UvA Education Day 2024 was opened by the Rector Magnificus, Peter-Paul Verbeek, and chaired by Dr. Toni Pape. This was followed by an inspiring keynote from Prof. Dr. Jessica Taylor Piotrowski titled 'Connecting the Dots.' She explored questions surrounding the concept of connection in education, emphasizing how the UvA community can grow stronger and more cohesive through science. In her speech, she provided evidence-based insights and tips on six key themes: connection with colleagues and students, sensitivity to individual differences, interdisciplinary collaboration, integrating society into the classroom, and building trust, humanity, and empathy.
